200MW successors to this prototype solar tower are now being seriously discussed. A varied suite of Renewable technologies, are entering the market. Investor confidence is allowing small technology companies to think big. The acceleration of energy crop farming such as Soybean, in large swathes of the world, demands honest environmental impacts assessment and whole life cycle understanding if we are to ensure our future biofuels are grown in an environmentally sustainable manner. Cracks and fractures latticing through the Weddel Ice Sheet can already be picked up from space, but monitoring ice thickness is more demanding. The recent failure of the satellite CryoSat, means a fast track replacement is needed in order to gain ice melt-rate data, critical if we are to better understand how climate change is impacting on the cryosphere. Large wind energy farms are being deployed across the globe. Off-shore developments benefit from skills and expertise gained in the offshore oil and gas industry. Grid enhancements and interconnectors are internationalising green electricity markets.
  Entering Renewables - Volunteering Navigation:

Volunteering
Often the quickest route into Green Energy can be working and learning on the job. This can mean a spell as an unpaid or poorly paid volunteer, but if you are learning useful skills and gaining experience in area of demand, this can be a profitable and quick route in.

It is worth considering that experience and enthusiasm are both important factors to allow entry in renewables. Qualifications suggest potential, successful hands on experience offers demonstrable proof.

We sometimes carry volunteer positions and will alert those registered candidates who wish to be considered for such opportunities.
