Job Description

CHP Field Service Engineer - South East Area - £30,000 + £34,000 + Overtime + On-Call Allowances

My client is a Cogeneration organisation who optimise energy supplies and provide an effective and efficient form of power generation.

As a CHP Field Service Engineer, you will respond to call outs at Power Plants in the South East, covering various sites in West Sussex, Kent, East Sussex and Surrey.

Working on large gas engines, the successful candidate will perform mechanical service, maintenance and fault finding on the engines and associated auxiliary equipment, including but not limited to:

  • Reactive problem resolution.
  • Wiring fault finding.
  • Replacing mechanical and electrical engine components.
  • Control panel fault finding.
  • Liaising with electrical biased engineers to perform troubleshooting.
  • Updating relevant paperwork.
  • Complying with H&S standards on site.

The successful candidate will possess strong mechanical engineering skills, with prior experience servicing diesel or gas driven generators.

Ideally, you will be qualified at Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/ HND or City & Guilds level in an Engineering discipline.
