The Community Liaison officer is an experienced professional responsible for cultivating strategic relationships through community outreach activities. This position implements Stakeholder Engagement Plans, in compliance with both the EvIS and IFC Performance Standards. The focus of these plans is ongoing disclosure of relevant information with stakeholders including community members, local authorities and local leaders, in methods that consider the level of education, language, interest of the audience.
The position will also be responsible for receiving any community feedback, including grievances, complaints or reports, and supporting the resolution of these, together with the appropriate Project staff. This position interfaces regularly with the Project leadership including Project Manager and EPC/O&M Project Manager, as well as the Head of Environmental and Social Governance.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
*Work with company and Contractor leadership to ensure standardized and compliant implementation of a comprehensive community outreach plan targeting individual, private, business, government, community, indigenous, school and other organizations, offering innovative amendments as needed and relevant.
*Work collaboratively and seamlessly with staff to identify gaps in stakeholder engagement, community relations, community investment plans, and address these changes proactively.
*Identify needs regarding information or clarification (such as information regarding renewable energy, health and solar, job potential, contractor management), and either propose curricula to address needs, or help identify relevant partners to address needs.
*Maintain detailed records regarding Key Performance Indicators and metrics
*Coordinate Open House or other stakeholder events as necessary
*Coordinate travel logistics for Project Participants and Visitors as necessary
*Develop deep relationships with relevant Project staff to ensure all information and/or works are completed in a detailed and timely manner.
*Develop concepts, gathering and formatting information and preparing clear communications.
*Identify strategic partners for future activities such as local universities, relevant groups, NGOs who we can leverage to improve performance.
*Serve as the face of the company and the project in the interaction with current and potential stakeholders and the media.
*Maintain current reports submitted to the Atlas and all relevant partners and investors
Position Qualifications and Knowledge:
Education and Experience:
*Bachelors Degree required.
*Five plus years of stakeholder engagement experience in Mexico
*Proven success in meeting and exceeding performance goals.
*Must have documented successful partnership cultivation experience and a keen understanding of the purpose and value of disclosure.
Job Knowledge and Skills:
*Has a strong performance orientation and skillful strategic thinking. Establishes clear expectations and continuously measures performance.
*Clear understanding of fieldwork ethics
*The ability to work through stringent deadlines with acute attention to detail is required. Maintains focus on priorities.
*Self-starter with the ability to manage time effectively.
*Demonstrates excellence in both oral and written communications. Knowledge of external communications and cultivation techniques are essential.
*A high degree of integrity in dealing with conflict.
*Ability to coordinate all aspects of an event including - logistics, correspondence, financial reports and printed materials.
*Ability to coordinate and lead committee meetings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Native fluent in Spanish, fluency in English highly desirable.
