Intern - Bioenergy / Renewable Energy - initial 6 months - Guildford - £18,000 to £20,000 p.a.
One of the leading biogas specialists in the UK is looking for an ambitious graduate to join them at their office in Guildford.
They specialize in the construction and operation of biogas plants, and work with farmers, the industry, as well as the wider community in the UK.
This is a 6-month-long internship likely convertible into a permanent role dependent on the Intern's performance and the needs of the business.
The opportunity is available to enable early career graduates with an interest in energy and National/local policy to gain exposure and understanding of low carbon technologies and the renewable energy industry.
The successful candidate will need to be hardworking, analytical, accurate and have a diligent approach, whilst being able to work in a collaborative team. A keen intellectual and commercial curiosity in the renewable energy industry from the planning and project side, as well as policy and regulation is essential.
Although no previous energy-industry experience is necessary, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate pro-active team behaviour and have strong time management and organisational skills.
The successful candidate should either possess a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Biology, Sustainable Development, Energy Management or Biochemical Engineering, which is combined with experience within the renewable energy sector, or hold a relevant postgraduate qualification.
Knowledge of sustainability and life cycle assessment will be essential - a strong interest in renewable energy and in particular the sustainability impacts of bioenergy will be desirable.
The right candidate should be able to conduct data/statistical analysis and should have excellent communication skills.

Salary of £18,000 to £20,000 p.a. on a pro rata basis - 6-month-long internship, likely convertible into a permanent role.
