Landfill Development Engineer - International Projects - Warrington

Our client is a specialist consultant focusing on a broad range of multidisciplinary projects in the waste management and brownfield land development sectors. Due to the continued expansion of both their UK and Overseas services there are looking for addition help supporting Landfill Design and Construction support, with a focus on the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

They are seeking to appoint a practical engineer with experience of the design and construction of engineered containment landfills. It will be primarily UK based but will involve some travel overseas to provide support to our clients.

This will be a varied role with the primary focus on the development, construction, operation, closure and remediation of landfill sites. Other work will include support to the mining and construction sectors.

In addition to this primary role there is a varied range of other engineering, land development and environmental work that the successful candidate can become involved in, including; brownfield land development, highways, surface water management, waste management facility infrastructure, geotechnics, planning applications, EIA, waste permit applications and contract management. Our client currently has live projects in the UK, Oman, Kuwait, India, Saudi Arabia & Turkey.

Good written and personal communication skills are essential together with a thorough and up to date understanding of construction contracts (e.g. ICE / NEC / FIDIC). Experience of business development including tendering for overseas contracts would be an advantage.

Applicants should have more than 5 years' experience and a relevant degree (e.g. Civils / Geotechnical / Mining Engineering). Chartered Membership of a relevant body (e.g. ICE, CIWEM, CWM, IoQ, IMMM, Geol Soc) would be an advantage.

The role will be a combination of project management and technical input in your own areas of expertise. You will have support from the wider in-house team who are highly skilled and experienced in the disciplines above.
