Role
The Operations Director is part of our client's Senior Leadership Team and has overall responsibility for all operational aspects business activity, including line management of the Operations Team. Due to an operational constraint with a major client, the successful applicant MUST have Royal Navy Warfare officer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Management of planning and execution for all operational activities
  • HSE
  • Sea going operational procedures and standards
  • Liaison with all authorities relating to operations both at home and abroad
  • Navigation and seamanship planning and execution for all sea going vessels
  • Operational maintenance of all sea going vessels and associated equipment
  • Co-ordination with the Technical Team and Consortium members to enable project deliverables
  • Operational design input into the OWR project in liaison with the Technical Team and Consortium members
  • Production of dissemination/marketing material and operational assistance with events as required by the Public Relations and Marketing Director

Work Locations and Travel
The Operations Director will be required to work at all office and facility locations as required. Occasional travel throughout the UK is required to attend meetings with consortium members, clients and suppliers. Worldwide travel for sales and operations is required once the product enters the demonstration, sales and operational phases.

Competencies

  • Marine command and navigation experience with familiarity of standards, practices and procedures
  • Team leadership experience with the ability to make sound operational judgements
  • Control and coordination of activities and ensuring the safety of all involved
  • Microsoft Office
  • Works well under pressure and meets deadlines
  • Able to work autonomously with reference to other Senior Leadership Team members as required
  • Honed communication skills with experience of working at a senior level
