One of Europe's leading asset management firms, operating in the low-carbon sector, is on the lookout for a strategic new hire, as they gear-up for an exciting period of growth.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced asset management professional to undertake a new challenge in a very busy, fast paced environment.

The role

The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing all technical aspects, related to the operation of company's fleet of projects.

You will supervise the monitoring of the portfolio's production, handling any issues that arise, managing the relationship with third-party contractors, and ensuring that all plants are functioning up to standard.

Further to the above, you will be liaising extensively with internal executives, external clients and investors, reporting on the portfolio's status and the team's work, and responding to any technical queries within your remits.

Finally, you will also be comfortable in managing a number of technical personnel, guiding them and supervising their work, and you will be responsible for setting an example for your reports to follow.

The person

This role will necessitate a substantial background in technical solar PV work, ideally stemming from an asset management background (possibly O&M / or even system design). You will be intimately familiar with all aspect pertaining to a solar plant's performance.

Apart from technical knowledge, the right candidate will also have a good understanding of the commercial characteristics of solar in the UK, including familiarity with the various incentive schemes and how to evaluate the portfolio's profitability.

Prior experience in people management, whist not essential, is strongly desired. You will need to be capable of interfacing and leading a diverse team of professionals - any queries, concerns or issues that relate to the staff, will be within you function.

Essential skills

  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline
  • At least 5 years of Solar PV experience
  • Solid track-record in O&M/asset management
  • Strong knowledge of UK solar PV sector
  • Prior experience in managing KPI and SLAs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Familiarity with financial plans/models
  • IT Literacy
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Desired skills

  • Prior experience in managing a team
  • Second European Language - Italian, German, Spanish
  • Knowledge of other renewables technology
