Job Description

This is a crucial and senior new role with a leading European investment and asset management firm based in Central London. The role will be focused on all matters of administrative and legal asset management for UK solar projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of appropriate structures and procedures to ensure correct on boarding of new assets into the portfolio, as well as the efficient ongoing controls around the contractual, corporate governance, company secretarial and regulatory obligations of project companies and their respective Holding Companies.

The role requires leadership in updating and redefining the standard for best practice in administration and legal asset management for clients. In addition, the role requires someone who can really hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities

Liaising with external parties and internal team members to verify the reporting of revenue generation and payments due for each SPV in accordance to the terms of the Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

Manage Renewable Obligations Certificates (ROCs) and Feed-in-Tariff (FiT) Ofgem submissions and claims including full tracking and reconciliation with the bookkeeping team.

Oversight of all company secretarial matters including maintenance of share and loan registers.

Manage key relationships including Ofgem, PPA companies, accountants, lawyers, landowners (including their agents) and other service providers and stakeholders in relation to all administrative and legal matters for all clients' SPVs.

Full Administrative, document and contractual oversight for the SPVs.

Management of all aspects of land leases, options and associated contracts.

Oversight of all on boarding of administrative and legal aspects of new SPVs.

About you

It is preferable that you have a background in legal/ commercial law. Understanding of financial analysis is essential with experience of SPV/portfolio management. This is a broad based role, so we're looking for a broad skill set.

You'll be a confident, high calibre operator, comfortable in a fast paced high intensity environment.

You have a systematic, highly organized approach to work, and a pleasant, but results driven approach.

Prior experience of Ofgem/PPA management and the processes associated with revenue collection would be an advantage. A knowledge of utility-scale solar or other renewable energy assets will be ideal.

Essential requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 + years in a similar level role
  • Experience in a company secretarial role is essential
  • Previous experience of the management of SPVs and/or HoldCos is also essential.Numerate and comfortable with financial, legal (contractual) and technical data
  • Systematic, highly organized workstyle
  • High standard of education, degree level

Accuracy and attention to detail, ability to lead virtual teams, analysis and root-cause problem solving, strong results orientation/solution focused, managing multiple tasks simultaneously with tight deadlines. Hardworking and flexible approach to work (it's not a 9-5 culture).
