Job Description

Spencer Ogden represent a world leading wind turbine manufacturer with an exciting opportunity for a Structural Engineer embark on an exciting journey towards developing the blades of tomorrow.

Your role is to develop future wind turbine rotor blades with focus on performance and cost through innovation, knowledge and cooperation with colleagues, research centers and universities. You are responsible for structural design and strength calculations including verification through measurements and tests.

You will have a unique opportunity to develop and influence and work closely with at team of very talented specialists.

Your key responsibilities are:
*Structural design and construction of rotor blades
*Strength and finite element calculations on rotor blades
*Plan and analysis of test results on blades and blade sections
*Calculation tool development
*Participate in blade technology projects and other technology projects
*Plan and develop future projects to fit with the overall strategy and Blade Science Center's strategy
*Cooperation with universities and science centers
*Actively follow and stay up-to-date with new developments within this technical field
*Make innovative steps towards future blade improvements
*Create patents

YOUR PROFILE
You hold a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautics or Physics and possibly hold a PhD with a relevant content with respect to the position. You have 5-15 years of relevant working experience from e.g. the wind turbine industry, relevant science centers or the aircraft industry. Furthermore, you have documented experience in finite element and strength calculations on lightweight composite and sandwich structures as found in wind turbine blades and aircraft wings. You are an experienced user of software and methods such as ANSYS, CAD modelling and composite materials. We expect you to thrive in working in an international, multi-cultural environment.

You are ambitious and work towards being the best within your field. You have a high level of drive and energy to create results and motivate your team and colleagues. You possess strong business acumen and work independently and systematically and are very capable of handling complex situations. You are a team player and possess excellent communication skills.
