Job Description

Technical Asset Manager - Solar PV & Storage (Graduate/Junior level), Exeter, UK. Base salary negotiable up to c. £30,000 , plus nice benefits - Bonus, Healthcare, Pension, Gym.

This is a great role for an ambitious engineering graduate to play a key role in a close knit, office based team managing a large portfolio of utility scale renewable energy assets (mainly solar PV & storage).

The company are in growth mode and will offer exposure to electrical storage projects as well as solar PV and other renewable energy assets.

About the role

The technical asset manager role will be responsible for monitoring the production and status of a number of solar PV assets (over 350 MWs), spread through the UK.

In addition to daily analysis, you will also travel to the respective sites to conduct field-based assessments, and will work closely with the company's operations & maintenance contractors.

Finally, you will also produce frequent performance reports to internal and external stakeholders, as well as any documentation needed for public and governing bodies.

About you

You are almost certainly degree qualified, ideally in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and will have at least a year of technical solar PV experience.

We are open to applications from recent graduates but have a strong preference for those with real work experience in the sector (one or two years would be great).

Further to the above, you will have a good understanding of the solar industry, both from a technical and commercial standpoint, and will be able to pick up any new concepts as required.

Strong attention to detail is key, as you will be dealing with data analysis and report preparation - as such, you will have to be precise and consistent in your work.

Finally, you will have exceptional communication skills, as you will engage various stakeholders through the value chain, and will be comfortable in the office and on site.

Essential skills

  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 1 year of technical solar PV experience
  • Knowledge of FiT/ROCs
  • Strong IT Skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic financial skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK

Desired skills

  • Prior experience in O&M/asset management
  • Knowledge of other low-carbon technology

The company will pay a competitive basic salary, negotiable depending on experience level, but potentially to £30,0000. Plus very nice benefits - Bonus, Healthcare, Pension, Gym.
