About the opportunity

One of our Europe’s leading investment funds and asset management companies, operating in the low-carbon sector, are looking to expand with a new addition to their team.

This is a company with an exceptional track record and a portfolio of renewable energy assets numbering in the hundreds of MWs.

Join the organization and work on some of Europe’s most exciting solar PV projects by providing your technical input on various aspects of the systems.

About the role

We are on the lookout for an experienced engineer, to join our technical team and manage the due diligence process prior to the financing or acquisition of solar PV projects throughout Europe.

You will be expected to visit the sites of projects, analyse their technical designs, review relevant documentation and run various simulations to assert the production capabilities of the plants.

Finally, you will be expected to produce reports on your work, present to internal/external stakeholders, and provide your expert judgment for the financing or acquisition of the projects.

About the person

You are almost definitely an engineer by academic background, with several years of technical solar PV experience and a strong understanding of the technology.

In addition, you will have worked either in a design, project management, or asset management capacity, and will be able to produce technically relevant documentation on the status of solar PV systems.

Finally, you will be comfortable in liaising with investors and lenders, as well as technical personnel of various seniority. Your communication skills should be excellent.

Essential skills

* 3+ years of technical solar PV experience
* Degreed in engineering/natural science discipline
* Strong knowledge of Solar construction/O&M process
* PVSyst proficient
* IT competence
* Advanced reporting and communication skills
* Ability to travel and attend sites
* Fluent in German and English

Desirable skills

* Prior experience with other low-carbon technology
* Financial skills will be a benefit
* Knowledge of additional languages (French/Italian)
