Job Description

Our client, a leading international sustainability consultancy, is looking to recruit a specialist with an outstanding track record of delivering technical due diligence, including expert witness services to UK and international clients. The role will cover the full range of waste treatment/recycling and energy from waste technologies. Experience in associated processes such as wastewater treatment would be an advantage. Candidates will also preferably have experience of similar work for other renewable energy technologies, such as biomass energy and wind. We are seeking a specialist with a successful track record of delivering due diligence studies for a number of technologies, whether for developers, lenders or procuring authorities. The successful candidate will also be involved in other work including supporting the procurement of waste infrastructure for public and private sector clients and supporting UK and international reviews of markets and technologies.
Key accountabilities:
• reporting to the Business Area Manager for due diligence and expert witness services, under the direction of the Practice Director;
• managing complex technical studies and reporting to a Project Director on a project-by-project basis;
• able to lead technical due diligence studies and/or be named expert witness in relation to matters involving the performance of waste treatment infrastructure;
• helping to shape the direction of the business area and provide input into marketing, sales, and opportunity qualification;
• winning new business, including with new clients, in the UK and internationally;
• leading preparation of proposals and attending networking events; and
• deployment and business development targets would be set for each reporting year
Key competencies and experience:
• knowledgeable about the UK waste market and the key operators, developers, funders, intermediaries and technologies;
• experienced in delivering technical and/or market due diligence studies for any of developers, lenders, intermediaries or procuring authorities;
• excellent network in the waste management and preferably financial and/or legal services sectors;
• preferably qualified to masters level in a relevant engineering discipline and/or Chartered;
• preferably an experienced expert witness;
• preferably hands-on experience in waste operations and/or infrastructure development and/or waste regulation and with a track record in consultancy;
• excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and desire to deliver to the highest standards for all outputs whether written, presentational, or delivery, and conversed in face to face meetings with new and current clients; and
• able to write clear, concise and accurate technical reports
