This international Renewable Energy development company has an exciting Wind project nearing financial close and has a strategic long commitment to developing Wind farm projects across Australia and internationally. As a result of increased development activity they are seeking to appoint a highly enthusiastic Project Development based in their Melbourne office.
Reporting directly to a Senior Manager, the Project Developer will be responsible for all aspects of project development and progressing existing projects through to financial close, and hand over to construction. 
Key responsibilities will include Project management of remaining development works, including planning, community and landowner liaison; Participate in the EPC negotiation process, working with contractors and consultants and ensuring that the company's needs are well represented in all negotiations; Participating in commercial negotiations to bring new projects into the company's portfolio; and working with consultants to ensure the successful development of the projects.

This role will include support throughout the project delivery and subsequent handover of the project to the Construction team and providing ongoing support as required. The Project Developer will also drive to develop and improve internal procedures within the organisation to enable safe and efficient execution of project related tasks.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity the successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualification (in Engineering, Planning, etc);

  • 2+ years experience from within the Power sector (ideally Renewable, Energy, ideally Wind alternatively Solar);

  • EPC, compliance and contract negotiation experience;

  • Working knowledge of Australian grid requirements, and experience with Network Connection applications;

  • Understanding of Wind farm grid systems and basis of substation design;

  • Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing internally and externally;

  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills and;

  • Confident & outgoing, positive attitude, willing to learn, independent and resourceful.
